AT SHERWOOD

Medical Detoxification Services

Medical detoxification is conducted under physician oversight with 24-hour clinical monitoring. Care begins with a comprehensive medical intake and assessment, including evaluation of substance use history, current health status, and risk factors.

Services may include:

  • Physician oversight and medical supervision
  • Continuous clinical monitoring
  • Vital signs monitoring and health status observation
  • Medication administration and withdrawal symptom management
  • Medication-assisted detoxification when clinically indicated
  • Emergency response protocols and escalation procedures

The goal of medical detox is safe stabilization while minimizing unnecessary discomfort or risk.

Substance Use Detoxification

Withdrawal management services support individuals detoxifying from:

  • Alcohol
  • Opioids, including prescription and synthetic opioids
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Stimulants
  • Prescription medications
  • Polysubstance use

Each detox plan is individualized based on medical history, substance exposure, and clinical presentation. Care decisions are guided by ongoing medical assessment rather than rigid protocols.

Nursing & Clinical Support

Licensed nursing staff provide 24/7 clinical support throughout the detox and stabilization process. Nursing care focuses on safety, monitoring, and appropriate intervention.

Services may include:

  • Ongoing health and safety monitoring
  • Medication reconciliation and administration
  • Infection control and safety protocols
  • Monitoring of sleep, hydration, and nutritional status

Continuous observation allows for timely response to changes in condition and supports overall stabilization.

Mental Health & Psychiatric Support

Substance withdrawal often involves emotional and psychological challenges in addition to physical symptoms. Psychiatric assessment and evaluation are available when appropriate to support stabilization during detox.

Services may include:

  • Psychiatric assessment and evaluation
  • Dual-diagnosis screening
  • Medication stabilization
  • Support for anxiety and mood-related symptoms
  • Crisis intervention services

Care is delivered with attention to safety, dignity, and individualized clinical needs.
